
Cleo Goyvaerts
Biography
Cleo Goyvaerts holds a Bachelor in Veterinary Sciences (2007, Ghent University), a Master in Biochemistry and Biotechnology (2010, Ghent University) and a PhD in Medical Sciences (2015, Vrije Universiteit Brussel - VUB). During her postdoctoral training, she deepened her understanding of lung tumor immunobiology and 3D modelling at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, New York. Since her appointment as Assistant Professor at VUB (2018), Cleo’s group focusses on the discovery and tackling of resistance mechanisms that hamper curative antitumor immunotherapy using patient-derived material, orthotopic lung tumor models, flow cytometry, next generation sequencing, ex vivo and in vivoimaging. Since 2024, she also manages the 2-photon intravital microscopy at the ICMI Core Facility.
