On Thursday the 12th of March CoDaFlight hosted a session at the 19th European Molecular Imaging Meeting (EMIM2024) in Porto, Portugal. The session focused on Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging in Clinical Applications was well attended and we believe it was a great success.
The focus session started with an introduction to Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging and CoDaFlight presented by Hans Ingelberts (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). The second talk was given by Emmet Mc Cormack (University of Bergen). He explained more about the use and history of Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging in preclinical studies. Following, Thomas Lapauw (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) presented the CoDaFlight camera and in vivo system for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging. Dimtiris Gorpas presented a nice overview of the challenges that come with the translation of Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging into the clinic. The session ended with the keynote talk from Anand Kumar (Harvard Medical School - Mike Toth Research Center, Mass Eye and Ear) about his advancements in using Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging in (pre) clinical samples to detect cancer.
