
Jelena Saliën
Biography
Jelena Saliën started her studies at KU Leuven, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. In 2021, she graduated as a Master of Chemistry, option sustainable chemistry. Eager to learn more, she continued her voyage in the world of science at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Université de Bourgogne as a joint PhD student. Her project comprises the synthesis and preclinical evaluation of bimodal immunotracers targeting colorectal cancer for fluorescence-guided surgery. In the first part, she will be performing the synthesis at the ICMUB laboratory of Université de Bourgogne under supervision of Prof. Franck Denat and Dr. Victor Goncalves. Afterwards, preclinical evaluation of the tracers will take place at the ICMI laboratory of Vrije Universiteit Brussel under supervision of Prof. Sophie Hernot.
