The beginning of 2024 marks a significant advancement in the field of fluorescent nanobody tracers and lifetime imaging.
We are delighted to announce that the Industrial Research Fund (IOF) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) has granted additional funding for a 5-year trajectory (2024-2028) to “Advance Imaging”, recognizing it as a Group of Excellence in Advanced Research (GEAR).
The Advance Imaging consortium unites three teams from VUB and UZBrussel, comprising a group of approximately 20 researchers. This collaboration includes the fluorescent lifetime imaging technology led by Prof. Maarten Kuijk and Hans Ingelberts (ETRO – VUB) and the development of fluorescent nanobody tracers by Prof. Sophie Hernot's team (MITH-VUB). In partnership with the UZBrussel Department of Surgery, Dr. Ellen van Eetvelde and Dr. Jasper Stijns, our collective goal is to harness these technologies for practical applications in life sciences, healthcare, medical research, and beyond.
